Who Can Apply
Chevening Scholarships are open to applicants who demonstrate leadership potential, ambition, and a commitment to driving positive change. The program values diversity and encourages applications from all backgrounds. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria, including holding a relevant undergraduate degree and possessing at least two years of work experience.
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- ***Return Requirement: Must commit to returning to your home country for at least two years after the scholarship ends.
- Work Experience: Minimum of two years (2,800 hours) of work experience.
- Education: Must hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies for a UK master’s program.
- University Applications: Must apply to three different eligible UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer from at least one.
Note: Applicants with British citizenship, refugee status in a non-eligible country, or certain relationships with UK government employees or Chevening Partner organizations may not be eligible. Additionally, those who have previously studied in the UK on a UK government-funded scholarship are not eligible.
Work Experience Requirement
Applicants must have at least two years of work experience, which can include full-time or part-time employment, voluntary work, paid or unpaid internships. Experience gained during mandatory employment for a degree does not count.
